    Communication Studies
Join faculty and students from the Dept. of Communication Studies to learn how our program can help students prepare for careers as communication specialists in a wide variety of fields.  We help students develop the transferable skills sought by  many employers:  oral communication, problem-solving, critical-thinking, interpersonal, conflict management, leadership and teamwork skills. Our program features friendly and talented faculty who enjoy mentoring students, small upper-division classes, award-winning speech and debate teams, and regularly available immersive learning opportunities.

Join our faculty and students as we share how our programs in the Department of Journalism prepare students for careers as professional storytellers, communicators, problem-solvers and leaders. With a major in the Department of Journalism, students will have necessary communication and media skills to be successful not only in a journalism related area but in a variety of careers where communication expertise is essential. You will have a chance to hear from award-winning faculty and students as well as have an opportunity to ask questions about our department.

Join us for a virtual visit with the Department of Telecommunications. In this session, you’ll learn about our major concentrations that provide flexibility as students explore possible career paths, our student-centered environment where you will learn by doing from day one, our large alumni network and amazing faculty who will mentor you throughout your educational journey, and beyond.
