Master of Social Work Information Session

Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

Life is messy. Solving complex problems is what social workers do best. If you are interested in a versatile career helping diverse people, organizations, and communities in innovative ways, join us and learn more about the exciting Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at Ball State.

The biggest areas of job growth in the U.S. are in the clinical management of addictions, supporting aging baby boomers (gerontology), and managing optimal health. Ball State's MSW curriculum focuses on all three within the context of rural communities. With our Advanced Generalist MSW, students will have advanced clinical AND non-profit management training—especially focused on rural communities where social workers need to be leaders with a diverse set of skills. You will be immersed in clinical addictions, gerontology, and health coursework. You will learn best practices in management, program development, non-profit budgeting, fundraising, personnel management, and leadership. Additionally, the MSW program is the only program in Indiana that trains all students for dual licensure in both clinical social work (LCSW) and addictions (LCAC). Situated in the College of Health, the MSW Program is housed in a $62 million new Health Professions Building with a simulation lab, community-based clinic, and dedicated social work skills labs.

Ball State's beautiful campus has top-notch technology resources and is highly adaptable for those with special needs. Come learn about our flexible evening course offerings delivered using a blended format—on-campus classes that alternate weeks face-to-face and online. If you are a busy working professional, we have a plan that will work for your schedule. Come learn about the full-time and part-time options for completing the MSW in three semesters (full-time) or up to three years (part-time).

During this informative session, you will learn about the following: career options and credentialing available with an MSW, Advanced Standing and Traditional Standing MSW options, the application process for Graduate School, and tips for making your MSW application stand out.

While this event is virtual, we will have faculty at the main Muncie campus and Ball State Fishers campus if students would like to attend the info session in person.
