Homeschool Chat Series Registration

    Discussions for homeschool families to simplify the college planning, search, and application process. This workshop series consists of 3 virtual sessions exploring topics from high school curriculum planning and advance credits to the application process and student life and housing. Sessions will provide insight on preparing for and transitioning to college as a homeschool student as well as information about Ball State's requirements and the benefits of becoming a Cardinal. Families will hear from Admissions, Transfer Center, Welcome Center, Housing, Student Life, and Honors College.

    Session 1: Transcript 101 - Academic Requirements and Planning

    This session serves as an introduction to admission requirements, the application process, and guidance on high school planning and record keeping (advance credits, curriculum requirements, and transcripts). Ideal for all students and administrators in grades 8 and up, topics will include:

    • Test Score Policy for homeschool students

    Session 2: Starting the College Search and Living on Campus
    Tuesday, March 12, 2024
    This session—for families with juniors and seniors—covers the application process and the campus visit experience. You will also receive information on our innovative Living-Learning Communities (LLCs) from Housing and Residence Life. Topics include:
    • Admission requirements overview
    • Steps to apply
    • Admissions and basic enrollment timeline
    • How to and why visit campus
    • Living and thriving on campus
    • Benefits of LLCs     
    Session 3: What It Means to Fly - Becoming a Cardinal
    Tuesday, April 9, 2024
    Students will hear about life on campus, Immersive Learning opportunities, and other high-impact experiences. You will also engage with a panel of current Ball State students with a homeschool background. This final session is intended for high school juniors and seniors.
